About RJ Mickens

RJ Mickens made a name for himself at Carroll High School in Southlake, Texas, where he played under Coach Riley Dodge. As a four-year starter, Mickens was a force on both sides of the ball. Defensively, he amassed 211 career tackles, eight interceptions, and 40 passes defensed. Offensively, he contributed with 61 receptions for 1,092 yards and 14 touchdowns, showcasing his versatility and athleticism.

Continuing his football journey at Clemson University, Mickens quickly became a key player for the Tigers. In his college career, he earned Third-team All-ACC honors from Pro Football Focus and ranked third on the team with 50 tackles, including 4.0 for loss, while adding four pass breakups and a fumble recovery in 532 snaps over 11 games, nine of which he started.

As a legacy NFL player, Mickens enters his extra year of eligibility in 2024 with a wealth of experience and impressive stats. Over 47 games (17 starts) at Clemson, he has recorded 144 tackles (7.5 for loss), five interceptions, eight pass breakups, and a fumble recovery in 1,424 career snaps.
