About Dillon Thieneman
Dillon Thieneman emerged as a standout defensive back at Westfield High School in Westfield, Indiana. A three-star recruit, Thieneman was highly regarded for his skills and tenacity on the field, earning a ranking of No. 12 in Indiana and No. 61 at safety by 247Sports. His exceptional performance as a senior led to him being named the 2022 Indiana Football Coaches Association (IFCA) Mr. Football at defensive back, a prestigious honor recognizing his impact on the field. Additionally, he was selected to the IFCA All-State Top 50 team and served as a team captain. Thieneman's leadership and defensive prowess helped guide his team to two state runner-up finishes.
Continuing his football journey at Purdue University, Thieneman has quickly made a name for himself in collegiate football. As a freshman, he was recognized as the FWAA Defensive Freshman of the Year, the Thompson-Randle El Big Ten Freshman of the Year, and the 247Sports True Freshman of the Year. Thieneman's instinctive play and exceptional ability to read the game resulted in him ranking third nationally in interceptions with six and leading all freshmen in solo tackles with 74, setting new Purdue freshman records in both categories. He finished the season with 106 total tackles, which not only led the team but also placed him fifth in the Big Ten among all players and marked the highest tally by any freshman in the country.
