MAKIUS SCOTT

Makuis Scott, a senior, has appeared in all 13 games for the past two seasons, starting six games as a defensive tackle in 2024. He recorded 14 tackles, including 1.5 sacks, two pass breakups, a forced fumble, and a quarterback hurry. Notably, he recorded half of his tackles in two games: four in the win at North Carolina and three in the eight-overtime loss at No. 6 Georgia, where he also had a sack, forced fumble, and pass breakup. In 2023, Scott played in all 13 games, making 10 starts—seven at defensive end and three at defensive tackle—amassing 34 tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, two quarterback hurries, two pass breakups, and a forced fumble.

 

His standout performances included a career-high seven tackles against Wake Forest and five tackles at Virginia. In 2022, as a sophomore, Scott started all 12 games, recording 22 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, and a fumble recovery, with his best performance coming in the win over No. 13/11 North Carolina. He also contributed throughout the season with multiple tackles in key games against teams like Clemson and Miami. As a freshman in 2021, Scott appeared in 11 games and recorded one quarterback hurry.
